How to Build an Ethereum Blockchain Explorer Dapp

08:09
How to Build an Ethereum Blockchain Explorer Dapp - https://blockgeeks.com/ In this lesson we’re going to see how to build a simple dapp using the Ethereum blockchain as our backend We’re going to build a blockchain explorer, kind of like etherscan, but we’re only going to display the last 10 blocks on the chain. To do this, we’ll use an open-source framework called Ethers.io to quickly develop and deploy our dapp. Ethers comes with command line tools which are available as a node module and can be installed using npm install -g ethers-cli. Let’s install to our global context since we’ll probably use this across multiple projects. You can read more about Ethers by checking out their awesome documentation online. Ethers.io makes it easy to create dapps by allowing you to quickly run them locally during development. One of the things I really like is that it removes the need to have a copy of the blockchain, so we don’t need to run a local geth node for example in order to build dapps. Another thing I really like is that it comes with a free hosting service called ethers.space, where we can store some of our static files for free. We’ll see how to use this later, but for now we’ll just keep everything local. The first step is to create a new project folder for our dapp and navigate into it. We’ll call our project, explorer. To use the ethers.space hosting, we need to have an Ethereum account and we can create one by calling ethers-build init, which generates a keyfile for us called account.json. Make sure you use a strong password when encrypting your private key. Your keyfiles never leave your web browser’s local storage when using Ethers Now let’s start by building our front-end UI. We can create a new HTML file called index.html and define a head and body for our document. Let’s put hello world in the body, and we’ll also give our page a title. We can quickly spin up a local web server to serve this index.html by using the command ethers-build serve. By default, Ethers will point to the mainnet, but we can also pass the —testnet option to point to ropsten. This prints out a local http address where we can see our UI. Let’s paste this URL into a browser. We get some sort of view rendered, but this isn’t like anything we wrote in our HTML. We keep seeing this ‘loading application’ spinner because we haven’t included the ethers-app javascript in our document. Let’s add a script tag to the end of our body and link it to the minified ethers-app javascript. Now when we reload the page in the browser, we are at least able to see our Hello World message meaning our application is loading. There’s also a dashboard across the top of the page, but we didn’t actually write any of this in our index.html. This view is inserted by the Ethers.io container running locally. Through the Ethers.io container, we can serve multiple apps by passing the application URL at the end of the fragment. The part after the hashtag tells the Ethers.io container which application to load. Typically we would have to run the Ethers.io container over https, but it allows for running over http for development. The Ethers.io container provides a bunch of other tools for us like a messenger, a testnet faucet and even its own blockchain explorer, but we won’t get into these features right now. Let’s try displaying the last 10 blocks from the blockchain in our UI. We can replace our hello world text with an HTML table element that defines 3 column headers. We’ll print out each block’s number, hash and timestamp of creation. Let’s give our table an ID so we can reference it later in javascript and we’ll also set the width to 100% To read more, visit https://blockgeeks.com/

Bitcoin Blockchain Explorer Visit website: http://tinyurl.com/8m5ki211edaa crypto-currency bitcoin is really a global currency that employs an open ledger procedure in order to record trades being submitted someone to another. All this happens with no central financial institution in the middle which is not governed through government, controlling system, individual company, or particular person. Tend not to take too lightly the potency of experience. Make deals, study, and learn. The very best Forex trading traders are those who have been performing it the longest. A seasoned trader will see what appears to be an excellent industry on the surface, but they'll know from expertise that it's not just a excellent option. Always keep exercising your abilities as which is the only way to learn. If you plan on time forex trading in the foreign exchange market, be inclined to leap on and buy and sell at any moment. http://www.Blockchain.ie - Irelands Blockchain Explorer Blockchain Ireland - n the context of its first digital currency, Bitcoin, a “Blockchain is a digital ledger that records every Bitcoin transaction that has ever occurred. It is protected by cryptography so powerful that breaking it is typically dismissed as “impossible”. More importantly, though, the blockchain resides not in a single server, but across a distributed network of computers. Accordingly, whenever new transactions occur, the blockchain is authenticated across this distributed network, then the transaction is included as a new “block” on the chain.” Bitcoin, in its simplest form is a digital currency. The Blockchain system itself is what allows people worldwide to transfer money quickly and at virtually no cost. https://www.freecryptominicourse.com | Use the link to the left to learn how and why bitcoin & cryptocurrency are changing the world and how you can massively profit from them. Check out the Blockchain Explorer to determine if the coin you are researching is a real cryptocurrency with a 'public ledger' blockchain behind it by using the following link: https://chainz.cryptoid.info/ In this video I explain how you can use a certain website to gain access to the 'Blockchain Explorer' and determine if a coin you are researching is actually a real cryptocurrency. If you are looking into putting money into a coin, you should determine that it has a public ledger blockchain first, because if it doesn't, it is not a real and you will want to stay very far away from it! It pays to to do your due diligence before getting involved with any cryptocurrency. Do your research! To read the full blog post about using the Blockchain Explorer to determine if a cryptocurrency is real, use the following link: https://www.whatisacryptocurrency.com/blockchain-explorer For more information, news and education on cryptocurrency visit: https://www.whatisacryptocurrency.com You can also read my blog post 'What Is A Cryptocurrency' for further insight into the history of crypto and where it's going with the second generation technology: https://www.meetcalebwright.com/cryptocurrency/what-is-cryptocurrency/ I wrote a follow up blog post here as well: http://www.meetcalebwright.com/cryptocurrency/what-is-a-cryptocurrency/ Have questions about Cryptocurrency? Wonder how you can start profiting with it and set yourself up to become one of the next cryptocurrency millionaires like many of us already are? I'd be happy to talk to you about that and answer your questions! Video Transcript: The Blockchain Explorer. This is the de facto way to determine if a coin that you are looking at is actually a real cryptocurrency. Caleb Wright here with What Is A Cryptocurrency dot com. And today I have decided to shoot a little video to help all of you out there who are researching the cryptocurrency industry, and to give you a tip that will keep you safe with how that you use your money when you decide to put it into a cryptocurrency coin. Make sure that your coin, or the coin that you are looking at and considering getting involved with is actually a real cryptocurrency that has a blockchain behind it. Because there are actually a bunch of companies out there who are promoting coins that they are actually distributing completely in house, which is illegal with the Securities and Exchanges Commission. And they seem to completely miss the point that a cryptocurrency is not just a digital currency, it's not just a digital unit. It has to have a blockchain technology behind it. Which is a public ledger which is accessible via the internet, by the public, hence the 'public ledger' name. And you can basically have access to all of the wallets and all the transactions that have happened within the blockchain of that cryptocurrency. So basically if a digital currency does not have a blockchain, it is not a cryptocurrency and you want to stay very far away from putting money into it until they actually get a cryptocurrency blockchain behind it and get it onto the publicly traded exchanges. So there is a website here that you can visit, it's called http://chainz.cryptoid.info that's c h a i n z dot c r y p t o i d dot info. And this website gives you access to the blockchain explorer of all the cryptocurrencies that are legit that are out there. As you can see we have a few of the popular coins right here at the top of the list. Litecoin and Capricoin and Rubycoin for example. And so you can also filter the list using this search bar up here, you can type in a specific coin that you are looking for, so you don't have to browse through this very long list of coins. Okay, then you can quickly determine if the coin you are looking at is real. Now to show you how you can navigate through this, and like I was telling you before how you can see any wallet that is in the blockchain and the transactions that have been made with these wallets. All you have to do is click on the coin. So I'm going to click Capricoin right here... (I couldn't fit the whole transcript, so please watch the video for the rest!) https://youtu.be/LnIytbmVOFY

Block Explorer Vs Website Steemit Brief Introduction | Hindi

15:17
A block explorer allows you to search and navigate through the block chain. Using a block explorer you can check the balance of different Bitcoin public addresses, track coin transfer histories watch how many confirmations a transaction has and get a wide variety of statistics about the network such as the current hash rate and more. For each block chain there is a different block explorer – so for example you won’t be able to user a Bitcoin block explorer in order to examine Litecoin’s blockchain. What can you do with a block explorer ? Usually the block explorer software will supply some or more of the following: 1. a list of a chain’s recent blocks 2. transactions in a given block 3. links to the previous and next transaction involving each input and output 4. a list of all transactions involving a given address 5. current and historical address balances 6. a way to search for blocks, transactions, and addresses Here’s an example of how to examine a public Bitcoin address using the most popular block explorer today blockchain.info. I just paste the public address into the block explorer and now I can see how many Bitcoins this wallet holds and its recent transactions. If I click on a specific transaction a can see details about this transaction such as when it was received, the number of confirmations it has or when it is estimated to be confirmed, the inputs and outputs of this transaction and how many Bitcoins were transferred. A list of 8 different Bitcoin block explorers Blockchain.info blockr.io Blockexplorer.com Insight.is Blocktrail BitcoinChain What is Steemit ? Steemit is a blogging and social networking website on top of the Steem blockchain database. The Steem blockchain produces Steem and Steem Dollars which are tradeable tokens users obtain for posting, discovering, and commenting on interesting content. Steemit, Inc is a privately held company based in New York City and headquartered in Virginia. The company was founded by Ned Scott and Dan Larimer, creator of BitShares. www.nodearts.com

The History of Bitcoin

12:11
The History of Bitcoin - https://blockgeeks.com/ We’ll start at the very beginning by understanding the history of blockchain. The very first blockchain in the world was Bitcoin. An anonymous person or group known as Satoshi Nakamoto published a document in an online cryptography forum in November 2008 and revealed the first details of how it would work, describing it as a “peer-to-peer electronic cash system”. The whitepaper is available today at bitcoin.org/bitcoin.pdf. It allows any 2 people to pseudonymously send money to each other no matter where they are in the world. It is a borderless currency. The main benefit of Bitcoin is that it does not require any centralized authority or institution to operate. This is in contrast to today’s centralized financial systems that depend on the existence of a central bank or government to mint money. If for any reason the central authority were to shutdown, the money would become worthless. In a decentralized system like Bitcoin, there is no central authority and the system can continue to operate as long as there are members in its peer-to-peer network. The goal of the whitepaper was to describe how the different parts of the Bitcoin protocol would operate and be kept secure. A new type of database, called a blockchain, would keep track of a single history of all Bitcoin transactions and it would be maintained by everyone in the network. The database would be publicly available for anyone to view and inspect, and anyone can download a copy of the same database. This provides data redundancy and makes sure the data is never lost, but also provides a way for anyone to verify the transactions in the database themselves. A block in the database just stores a sequence of transactions, and a sequence of blocks is called a blockchain. Each block is identified by an incrementing number and a unique Sha-256 hash. The hash for a block is calculated using the transactions inside it, as well as the previous block’s hash, which forms a chain of hashes. The data in the blocks is secured using a cryptographic algorithm called proof-of-work, which also keeps all members of the network and the database in sync to prevent double-spending. In this context, preventing double-spending means preventing anyone from spending money they dont have. Proof-of-work is used to generate new blocks for the database, also known as mining, and the reward for mining a new block is given to the miner by creating new Bitcoins in the system. This is the only way new Bitcoins can be created. Anyone on the network can be a miner and a new block is mined roughly every 10 minutes, which includes the latest set of verified transactions. The first release for Bitcoin was version 0.1 written in C++ by Satoshi and published on SourceForge in January 2009 under the open-source MIT license. Anyone could download the source code and run it to join the network, also known as becoming a node in the network. This is the original version 0.1 source code written by Satoshi. We can see the hard-coded genesis block, which is the very first block in the chain. The hash for the block can be verified by using any Bitcoin blockchain explorer. Let’s copy and paste this hash into the blockchain explorer available at blockchain.info. We can see that this hash is for block number 0, and that it has only one transaction in it which is the mining reward, and the reward amount of 50 Bitcoin was given to this Bitcoin address. We can also see this 50 Bitcoin reward for the genesis block in the original source code. The genesis block is a special case needed to start the blockchain and is the only block that is hard-coded, whereas every subsequent block is calculated using proof-of-work. Satoshi’s motivation for creating Bitcoin is revealed in the piece of data he included in the genesis block: a newspaper headline from The Times that read ‘Chancellor on brink of second bailout for banks’. The date of the newspaper is proof that the genesis block was created on or after Jan 3 2009. Satoshi developed the source code mostly himself up until mid-2010, when he handed it off to the open-source community. It is now maintained under the project called Bitcoin Core. The software is currently at version 0.15.1 and is available for download at bitcoin.org. This is still the most popular Bitcoin client, and its estimated that there are over 10 thousand nodes running the Bitcoin network today using various clients. Satoshi disappeared from public view in late 2010, his identity still unknown to this day. The only way someone could prove that they are Satoshi is by using the same encryption keys used when posting the original whitepaper in the online cryptography forum.
